Planetary Health FUUnd Lunch

When we choose and prepare food, we’re often focused on human health, enjoyment, and culture, which are important aspects of a nourishing meal. We can also eat in ways that support the health of our planet and help to develop sustainable food systems for our global population.

The Green Sanctuary Team is using resources from The EAT-Lancet Commission to promote planetary health through our FUUnd lunch plans. In contrast to the nutritional plate that many of us grew up with, let’s consider the balance of foods represented above.

Please contribute a dish and join us for a delicious meal! Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are appreciated. Food should be dropped off in the kitchen before Worship Service. To reduce waste, please bring your own reusable dishware and cutlery.

The funds we raise will be used to purchase plants for the recently leveled and re-fenced area near the playground, helping to prevent erosion and create a natural screen between our campus and the parking lot. $600 will purchase the trees and vines selected by our Grounds Committee, and any additional donations will be used to establish groundcover.
