Adult Programs

Our UU Principles call on us to engage in a free and responsible search for truth and meaning and to encourage spiritual growth.  Our Adult Programs provide the support and resources to help you on your own personal lifelong journey.

We offer both ongoing and short-term Adult Religious Education classes on a wide variety of topics, such as world religions, Unitarian Universalism, science and philosophy, and social justice.

The Path of Faith Formation series at First UU offers a clear route to developing one’s Unitarian Universalist faith and identity. Adults who choose this path will start out by taking several classes in UU Foundations, move on to articulating their faith, and then, if they have higher aspirations, may choose one or more culminating paths.

Our small group ministry program, also known as Chalice Circles, are great places to get to know other people and to get to know yourself. Over time, participants build deep connections with one another, with the congregation, and with the sacred.

The Our Whole Lives (OWL) human sexuality program provides accurate, developmentally appropriate information about a range of topics, including relationships, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality for adults.

We try to offer a wide variety of adult programs to both challenge and inspire.  We encourage you to try out several different classes and programs to find the one that resonates with you.  For more information about Adult Programs at First UU, contact our Director of Lifespan Religious Education, Tim Versteeg, at tversteeg@uusat.org.
