Belonging Workshop

How does our church foster a sense of “profound belonging” that reflects the new Shared Unitarian Universalist Values adopted by the 2024 UUA General Assembly? The First UU San Antonio Inclusion Team is offering a 3-part workshop on Mondays, Oct 7, 14 and 21 at 7:00PM to 8:30PM on Zoom. We invite everyone in our church community to attend all three sessions. Maggi Joseph and Mary Barad have partnered to facilitate this dynamic workshop. It’ll be fun!

We will begin by thinking about and sharing about our individual understanding of “belonging.” The sessions will explore the meanings and attributes of belonging while challenging what it means “to connect at depth across difference.” We’ll also delve into ways our church community can develop and sustain a profound sense of collective belonging.

We believe there is opportunity for First UU to become more welcoming to people with different origins and to all identities. We need YOU to come and share your ideas and stories.
