“What to Carry & What to Leave Behind” by Rev. Nell Newton

Each of us is carrying some of the past along with us – it has shaped us and guides us and can be helpful. It might also be like carrying a small stone that was a pretty souvenir at the beginning of the hike but becomes heavy and ugly as you stagger up another hill. As a faith that embraces change, we must get comfortable with making the choices of what stories and theologies we carry forward and what we leave behind.
