“Of Groundhogs and Goddesses” with Maggi Joseph – We are invited to learn a little bit about how some ancient European goddesses have left traces of their traditions on some of our modern springtime customs. At this time of year in Europe sheep are beginning to lamb and thus produce milk and also bulbs and roots underground are beginning to stir with life even though the land is still cold and bare on the surface. New life is developing even though it’s not always visible. We will also be invited to consider how we might draw inspiration for our contemporary lives from connecting to what is happening in nature at this time.

Maggi Joseph, a member of this church since 1973, will share some of her thoughts about celebrating springtime from her UU pagan perspective.  Maggi is currently a member of the Worship Committee and a leader of the Inclusion Team.  She has been active in leadership positions in our church including President of the Congregation, co-leader of the Cakes for the Queen of Heaven curriculum, and, recently, co-leader of the Belonging Workshop.
