Celestial Celebrations Circle is hosting an in-person Samhain Ritual the Saturday before Halloween. We expect to meet in the patio area and probably move inside Fellowship Hall, the large meeting room on the highway side of the building. You may wear ritual garb or street or work clothes. Samhain is pronounced like sow-un, sow rhymes with cow. Samhain is the opposite to Beltane (in April or May). The third of three harvest festivals, Samhain marks the return of winter and a thinning of the veil between this world and the next. Unlike Halloween, Samhain is not a party, but in San Antonio, it is a bit more like Day of the Dead. Think of the names of people who have died since the last Samhain, so that you can announce their names and light a candle for them. At this time, we are still requesting that participants be vaccinated and wear a face mask. We still cannot host a potluck after the ritual, but we will have access to restrooms! Please bring a chair if you can and bring a contribution for the food bank.
