MLK March

January 20 @ 8:45 am - 2:30 pm

Martin Luther King, Jr. March
Monday, January 20
Assembly at 8:45 AM, March at 10:00 AM

Freeman Coliseum, 3201 E. Houston St.

San Antonio’s Martin Luther King, Jr. March is the largest MLK march in the country. First UU has historically marched as a group, and we hope that this year will be our largest showing ever. If you are willing and able, we hope you join us for this important event. Participants of all ages are welcome!

Some notes about the march:
  • The route is about 3 miles; be sure you are physically able to walk the entire route.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water.
  • There are no bathrooms along the route, so make sure you go ahead of time. Bathrooms are available at the start of the march at MLK Academy.
  • If you have one, wear your yellow “Side with Love” tee shirt. If you don’t have one, they can be purchased online at the inSpirit bookstore.
  • We will gather NEAR THE BUSES at the Freeman Coliseum Lot 1 between 8:20am and 8:40am to board the buses to the march together. Our yellow T-shirts and banner will make it easier to spot each other!  We will get in line to board the buses to the march together at 8:45am so that we can arrive at our place in the march as a group.
  • The march concludes at the Pittman-Sullivan Park where there will be a post-march celebration. Buses will be at the park to return you to your cars.
For more information about the march visit the City of San Antonio‘s website.
