Basura Bash

You’re invited to join the Green Sanctuary Team for San Antonio’s largest single-day waterway cleanup event, hosted by River Aid San Antonio. Across three decades, thousands of volunteers have removed nearly two million pounds of debris from local rivers and creeks. First UU is a part of that legacy, and this year, we’ll continue our tradition of working alongside our neighbors.

The Rodriguez Creek location has playgrounds and picnic tables, ample parking, and most importantly, plenty of opportunities to clear trash from floodways and wildlife habitats. Children can collect small items like water bottles, and more adventurous volunteers have been known to wade into the creek and pull out large obstructions, such as mattresses and shopping carts. We’ll meet at Pavilion 2 at 8:45 am and stay until the work is done, but participants are welcome to join us for any part of the event.
