8th Principle Info Session

March 21, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

“What is the proposed 8th Principle?  Why are we talking about it now?”

Join us at a “Listening and Information Session” to learn more. There will be two sessions to pick from: in person in Building 5 on March 19 at 12:15pm or online on Zoom on March 21 at 7:00pm. You are welcome to attend one or both sessions. RSVP to rj-blmwg@uusat.org for Zoom link.

We will begin each session with a short presentation about the history of antiracism and anti-oppression efforts within the Unitarian Universalist church and at First UU San Antonio. We will briefly explain the 8th Principle movement, illustrate its relationship to Beloved Community and proposed changes to Article II, and present answers to some frequently asked questions.

Our meeting will be a safe space, where we will speak and listen to each other, sharing our concerns and support from a place of mutual respect.   It is our intention that there be no crosstalk or debate.  Time for speaking will be limited and equitable, using a facilitated small group format.

Childcare is available (please RSVP at link above for childcare) and snacks will be provided for the in-person event. Second sessions are planned for April 16 (Bldg 5) and April 18 (Zoom)
