Volunteering

There are many opportunities to volunteer at First UU. Our weekly emails often feature opportunities to get involved. Volunteering can help you feel that this is truly your community. People usually find that making connections with others and contributing in some way makes membership more meaningful.

Below are just some of the many volunteer opportunities available at First UU.  If you’d like to volunteer in an area not listed, please contact the church office at office@uusat.org.

Building and Grounds

If you have skills to maintain the physical environment of the church, maintenance and grounds help is always welcome. Contact maintenance@uusat.org to volunteer.

Member Care

The Member Care team is an excellent place to get to know fellow congregants while acting in a compassionate, supportive way to those who need assistance. Contact membercare@uusat.org to volunteer.

Flowers for Sunday Services

If you have a special occasion or person to honor, consider bringing flowers for Sunday services. Sign up online at our Flower SignUp site.

Music and Choir

If you love to sing or play an instrument, consider joining the choir or playing an instrument in one of our services. The choir is open to new singers at any time. For more information, contact our music director at choir@uusat.org.

Ushering

Do you love meeting new people and making them feel welcome? Ushers hand out orders of service, collect the offering, and help guests and visitors as they enter the sanctuary. Contact membership@uusat.org to volunteer.

Welcome Table

The greeters at the Welcome Table are the first faces a visitor sees when they attend church for the first time. Welcome Table volunteers hand out literature about the church and invite visitors to sign up to receive emails and communications from the church. Contact membership@uusat.org to volunteer.

Youth Religious Education

Would you like to help guide our children and youth on their spiritual journeys?  Consider volunteering in one of our Youth Religious Education classes.  Training and curriculum will be provided.  Contact the Director of Lifespan Religious Education at DLRE@uusat.org for more information.
