God has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. ~ Isaiah 50:4

In our liberal religious tradition, our pulpits are free – meaning the speaker is not tied to scripture or dogma. However, we still expect our speakers to make an effort to help us find truth and meaning and sustain the weary with a word! If you have a sermon seed germinating, love to write, or simply wonder what goes into putting together a service, join Rev. Nell for five classes in Sermon Writing. Exercises will include writing words for chalice lighting, invocations, benedictions, and sermons. The first four classes will meet on Zoom, and the final class will be held in the Sanctuary where we can practice what we’ve learned. Last year’s participants all developed great sermons and shared them with the congregation during the summer!
