We really NEED your help! Please consider volunteering to write letters to Virginia voters with the UU the Vote Team on Saturday morning September 16. We will be serving breakfast tacos!

We have been rewarded by the postcard results in Wisconsin! With our help, Wisconsin voters turned out to choose a new Justice for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

And we wrote 680 letters in July that helped to STOP the Ohio legislature from raising the percentage of votes needed to approve any grassroots issue from a simple majority to over 60%. Democracy won, and we helped.

Please get your pens ready to write to Virginia Voters. We are planning to meet at 10 a.m. September 16, in Building 5 to write letters to encourage young Virginia voters to support Gun Control legislation. We’ll be asked to address envelopes and write 20 letters each, with a short testimonial letter about how we have been affected by mass shootings.

Vote Forward asserts that personal messages about the writer’s own experience are most effective in getting voters’ attention. I am writing about how as a former teacher I have been devastated by the horrendous slaying of 19 middle school students and two teachers in “a school near my home.”
