The Board of Trustees will hold a Special Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 16 at 12:15 pm, immediately following the Worship Service, in the Sanctuary and on YouTube. The agenda will have a single item of business: A motion to approve the adoption of a Congregational Resolution on Solidarity with Palestinians proposed by members of the Social Justice Committee and the San Antonio Chapter of UUs for Justice in the Middle East.
The proposed resolution represents a broad statement of concern asking members of First UU to stand in solidarity with Palestinians. Over the past two decades, members of First UU Church San Antonio have passed several congregational resolutions and social justice statements. Consistent with this tradition, the Special Congregational Meeting will allow members to consider the proposed resolution.
Eligible voting members received details about the meeting, which will also include informational updates from the Board and a Listening Session. To be eligible to vote on this resolution you must be a member in ‘good standing’ per our church by-laws. To check your membership status, contact the church office at office@uusat.org
