Worship Service on Sundays at 11:00 a.m.
Our First UU Inclusion Team formed in response to the congregation’s approval of the 8th Principle* in 2023, to incorporate efforts at building a multicultural Beloved Community and fostering a sense of belonging among our church friends and members. We act to advocate for the marginalized and oppressed.
We focus on issues of our church culture that may unconsciously reflect various forms of bias, and other areas of concern brought forward by our Member Care Committee, Membership Committee and Greeters, church members and leadership, Minister(s), and Board of Trustees. We may offer advice and consult in crisis intervention, and develop educational opportunities such as workshops and book reads to promote learning and acceptance in our congregation.
*The 8th Principle of Unitarian Universalism: “We covenant to affirm and promote: journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse and multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.”
The Social Justice Committee (SJC) coordinates social justice activities with SJC teams and sub groups, the congregation members and leadership, and with partners in the larger community; and provides opportunities for our members to live out their commitment to the values and principles of our faith.
