UU the Vote

This year’s election is more important than ever before.  Not only is there the important top of the ticket decision on who will lead our country over the next four years, there are also important bottom of the ticket propositions that will make a big difference for our community.  We encourage everyone to get registered to vote, vote early, and support Proposition B – Ready to Work SA.

Register to Vote – If you are not already registered to vote, do so today!  The deadline to register is October 5. Visit https://webservices.sos.state.tx.us/vrapp/index.asp to complete an online voter registration application.  Once you complete the online application, you must print it out, sign it, and mail it to the voter registrar’s office in the county you live in.  For Bexar County that address is 1103 S. Frio,Suite 100, San Antonio, TX 78207.  You can also pick up an application from your local library or call 210-335-VOTE (8683) to have an application mailed to you.  Your application must be completed and received by the registrar’s office by October 5 in order to vote in this year’s election.

Get Informed – This election isn’t just about voting for president.  There are multiple state and local races, as well as several propositions that effect the citizens of San Antonio and Bexar County.  One propsition, Proposition B-Ready to Work SA, is especially important.  Crafted by COPS/Metro, this important proposition will provide work training to thousands of people who have lost jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.  To learn more about this proposition and other ballot initiatives, please attend our Ballot Propositions Town Hall on Thursday, September 24 at 7pm on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82608364412

Vote – The most important thing you can do to create the change you want to see is to vote.  Make a plan now on how you will be voting this year.  If you are able to vote in person, it is best to do so during early voting, October 13-30.  There will be early voting sites throughout the city.  If you are not able to vote in person, call your county’s registrar office today to request your mail in ballot.  The recommended date to mail in your ballot, in order for it to be received in time for the election, is October 20.  For Bexar County, the registrar office number is 210-335-VOTE (8683).
