Buttons, Bumper Stickers, and Activism
Donna will be discussing the topic of whether we, as UU’s, are compelled by our faith to be active participants in social justice actions.
Donna Pereira grew up in Rhode Island as the oldest and smartest of five children. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island without distinction and was awarded an MBA from St. Louis University in spite of her aversion to calculus. She became a dedicated Unitarian Universalist in 1997 shortly after moving to Connecticut from Missouri where she had been banished for 20 years. She has always been liberal in her politics and religion and is delighted to find herself in a congregation of likeminded freethinkers. She is the mother of one daughter and the extremely proud grandmother of three amazing, talented kids who aspire to become Jedi Masters.
