Religious Education Tune Up

Saturday, October 6, 9am-3pm, Fellowship Hall – When a new religious educator is hired by a congregation, it is customary for UUA personnel to come to the church and spend a few hours with the new religious educator and RE stakeholders helping them get off to a good start as a faith-building team. This is called an RE “start-up.” Similarly, when a religious educator has been with a congregation for several years, churches sometimes want to re-examine their practices and commitments in a workshop known as a “re-start,” or “tune-up.” All religious education stakeholders (parents, RE teachers and advisers, RE committee members, adult RE attendees and facilitators, board members, committee chairs….) are invited to attend such a tune-up.

This workshop will be led by acting co-lead of the Southern region, Natalie Briscoe. Topics will include covenant, visioning, role of RE in the congregation, and roles within the lifespan RE program. If there are any specific topics you would like Natalie to cover, contact Sheri (dlre@uusat.org) or Natalie (nbriscoe@uua.org).

Lunch and child care will be available. Please RSVP to Sheri by Oct. 1, including any children that will need child care and any dietary restrictions.
Let’s make a great future of religious education at First UU san Antonio!
